Causes of pet anorexia or picky appetite: (aside from current health problem or background of sickness)

Usually, the reason why furry friends don't taste good which is not their habit. It is often the result of people regularly sharing the foods we eat throughout the day or overeating treats for them. This not only increases the risk of obesity which caused by junk food, not nutrition, but can also encourage bad behaviors. Actually, your furry friend avoid eating in the hopes of getting more interesting food than what's currently in the bowl.

The best way is to limit the number of meals. Remember that dogs and cats have different nutritional needs than we do, so the way we receive meals, how many times a day, and how much food we eat for each meal need not apply the same thing for pets.

Effective ways to correct this picky eating behavior:

  • Must show them that no other option exists

Place the food in a cup and let it sit for 30 minutes. If the food is intact, take it away to save it until it's time for the next meal

When it comes to their next meal, prepare the same food or take the leftovers from the previous meal and keep taking it away after 30 minutes, whether or not they have eaten.

In a day or two, your furry guy might start checking around for more junk food. Maintain your strategy. Don't give in! Your furry guy is not so badly hungry. Because if he is hungry, he will eat.

You may have to suffer a little: endure the feeling of pity, worry for him, endure the frustration, sadness and weakness of him, endure strong rejection those cutie eyes... but these are effective techniques to eliminate picky eating and anorexia. Hold it for a bit now, but then you'll be happy for the long-term result: the life of You will be a lot easier

If you change the recipe for him, do it slowly:

  • Start by combining new foods with old foods and gradually increase the amount of new foods as you decrease the amount of old foods. This will be helpful in getting him acquainted with new food and avoiding a hunger strike.

  • Keeping the same schedule, location and eating environment ... only the change is in the food in the bowl

If your pet suddenly becomes sick, has anorexia, although it is still eating normally, functioning normally, then the problem may be due to a digestive disorder or related illness. Observe your pet for vomiting, diarrhea, sluggishness, or weight loss. If so, then medical attention is needed.

Remember, fussy eating, anorexia, but if there are no signs of vomiting, weakness, diarrhea, slow ... then you should adjust the behavior of them, not adjust your life for them.
